General Information, Basic Principles and Rules



1) International candidates who graduate from undergraduate or graduate programs of universities and wish to pursue postgraduate education, can submit their applications online within the framework of the determined calendar, by providing the required documents completely.

2) For language proficiency, the candidates must have at least a B2 level document proving that they know Turkish from the exams held by VAN TÖMER or equivalent official institutions.

3) The candidates who do not have at least B2-level certificate gain Turkish language proficiency by getting sufficient points in the Turkish Language Exam held by VAN TÖMER or equivalent official institutions. The candidates who fail this exam are given a maximum of two (2) semesters to learn Turkish, during which they can continue their education and training. Students who cannot obtain at least B2 level documents will be dismissed from the university at the end of this period.

*Turkish language requirement is not required for international students who graduate from undergraduate or graduate programs in Turkey or abroad where Turkish is the language of instruction.

*International students who will apply to graduate programs whose language of instruction is other than Turkish (English, Arabic etc.) are not required to have a Turkish proficiency test.

4) Candidates applying to programs whose language of instruction is English are required to have a minimum of 60 points in YDS or an equivalent score in English language exams accepted as equivalent by the Interuniversity Board. If necessary, these minimum scores can be rearranged by the Senate.

*English language requirement is not required for applicants who graduate from undergraduate or graduate programs in the country or abroad whose language of instruction is English.

5) International doctoral program candidates must meet at least one of the following conditions for language proficiency:
a) To graduate from a higher education institution in Turkey,
b) To graduate from undergraduate or graduate programs in the country or abroad, where the language of instruction is English,
c) To have at least a B2 level document proving that the candidate knows Turkish from the exams held by TÖMER or equivalent official institutions,
d) To have a minimum score of 55 from an equivalent foreign language exam accepted by YÖK and the Interuniversity Board
e) Those who do not have any foreign language proficiency certificate are required to have a minimum score of 55 out of 100 in the foreign language exam to be held in foreign languages ??determined by the Rectorate.

6) International master's or doctorate candidates applying with a government scholarship must meet the following English or Turkish language requirements for their application.
a) Students who want to study Turkish in graduate programs must meet at least one of the conditions listed below;
a1. To graduate from undergraduate or graduate programs in Turkey or abroad whose language of instruction is Turkish
a2. To have at least a B2 level document from VAN TÖMER or equivalent official institutions proving that the candidate knows Turkish.
b) Candidates who want to study in programs whose language of instruction is English must meet at least one of the conditions listed below;
b1. To graduate from undergraduate or graduate programs in the country or abroad whose language of instruction is English
b2. It is required to get a minimum score of 55 from YDS, e-YDS, or YÖKDİL, or to meet this score from an equivalent foreign language exam accepted by the Interuniversity Board, according to the equivalence scores determined by the Assessment, Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM).
 
* Among the candidates applying to graduate programs, those who cannot provide any of the following documents during their application, may be conditionally accepted to the program by the relevant Institute Board of Directors:
- Language Proficiency Exam Result Document, (Except for international students who will apply to graduate programs whose language of instruction is other than Turkish (English, Arabic, etc.). For candidates who will apply to these departments, it is obligatory to submit the proficiency exam result document of the relevant education language in their applications.
- Recognition Certificate
- Equivalency Certificate (For health programs with clinical application)

* Master's students are required to complete and submit their Language Proficiency Exam Result Document to our university within a maximum of 2 (two) academic semesters from the date of their final registration, and doctoral students within 4 (four) academic semesters.

* Students are required to submit the document regarding the recognition of the institution they grauate (Recognition and Diploma Equivalency Certificates) to our university within a maximum of 30 (thirty) working days from the date of final registration. Those who cannot present the document within this period will be dismissed from the university at the end of this period.

*(1) If the program from which the applicants graduate is a higher education institution providing education abroad, the institution in question must be recognized by the Higher Education Council (YÖK) in Turkey. International candidates applying to master's/doctorate programs in health fields that require clinical practice are asked for a "diploma equivalence certificate" indicating that the higher education institutions they have previously studied are accepted by YÖK, and international candidates applying for fields other than these fields are asked for a "recognition certificate" by YÖK.

(2) Recognition and Diploma Equivalency Certificates are taken from Higher Education Council (YÖK) by the candidate.

(3) In health programs that require clinical practice, Diploma Equivalency Certificate is requested from the candidates.

(4) Students are required to submit the document regarding the recognition of the institution they graduate (Recognition and Diploma Equivalency Certificates) to our university within a maximum of 30 (thirty) working days from the date of final registration. Those who cannot present the document within this period will be dismissed from the university at the end of this period.
